New paintings: Biscotti and Lavender, 11x15 pen and ink and watercolors. Original $500. Giclee$90 Watercolor painting by Linda Abblett.

First, a new watercolor painting named “Biscotti and Lavender.”

I’ve been experimenting with new ways of rendering my subjects. This one introduces a bit of transparency into subjects of the still life, a ceramic biscotti jar and vase with fruits, vegetables and lavender flowers. For those who love purple, this lavender-centric watercolor painting is the one for you!

New paintings: Music Under the Night Lights, 15 x 11 Watercolor painting by Linda Abblett. Inspired by an outdoor summer concert under the stars and lights of an Italian village. This was an experiment with pouring the paint. A little different style for me, but fun and I am happy with the results. Original Watercolor $500 Giclee $90

Next, another new watercolor named “Music Under the Night Lights.”

This painting was inspired by an outdoor music festival under the stars and lights of an Italian village called Bonasola. I experimented with pouring the paint on this one. This resulted in a different style for me, but it’s a fun effect and I’m happy with the results.

New paintings: Sweet and Sour in Sorrento, 15x11 original watercolor. $500. Giclee $90 Inspired by travels in Italy. I loved the contrast of the yellow and red when I saw this fruit hanging on a road side shed. Watercolor painting by Linda Abblett.

“Sweet and Sour in Sorrento” is another painting inspired by my travels in Italy. I loved the contrast of the yellow and red when I saw this fruit hanging on a road side shed. It is not one of my new works, but was inadvertently left out of the images I sent to webmistress Hannah West when we created my new website last year.

I currently have more paintings exhibited in the “Celebrate” show at Art Presence Art Center in Jacksonville, Oregon for June and July. Please visit the gallery to see my paintings in the show. The reception will be Saturday, June 11 from noon to 3pm – do join us, I would love to meet you! I hope you will also enjoy looking through my website and considering a purchase for you home or professional office.
